About

Chris Siefert is an artist with professional experience in non-profit administration, project management, landscape architecture, and teaching. (CV here) He is the deputy director at Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor, NY having previously served as deputy / interim director at Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill, NY. Siefert worked at Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh as deputy director (2007-2016), project manager (2000-2005) and director of exhibits (1998–2000). He taught The Business of Museums, a graduate level course in the Masters of Museum Administration program at St. John’s University; and Museum Operations in the Masters of Arts Management program at Heinz College, Carnegie Mellon University. From 1996 through 1998 Siefert taught sculpture at Louisiana State University and served as Chair of the Louisiana State Sculpture Park committee. Previously, Siefert worked with interdisciplinary design teams at Cesar Pelli and Associates and Balmori Associates in New Haven, Connecticut on several notable and award-winning design and landscape architectural projects.   

Siefert has a BS in landscape architecture from Cornell University and earned his MFA from Carnegie Mellon University where he was awarded a Jacob K. Javits Fellowship in Visual Arts. In 2013 Siefert was recognized for his leadership with a fellowship from the Noyce Leadership Institute.  Siefert attended the John F. Kennedy School of Government Executive Education Program in 2008 and the Museum Management Institute [now the Getty Leadership Institute] in 2000. Siefert is Chair of the Board of East End Special Players, an active member of the East End Classic Boat Society, and past President of the Pittsburgh Dynamo Youth Soccer Association.
